Waxing
Hot Wax
Should there be stubborn hairs and short in length Hot Wax method will remove them.
Hot wax you’ll find is less like to break the hairs causing ingrowing hair less likely to exist.
As the wax cools it grips around the hairs ready for your therapist to remove with ease. The best part it’ll leave no sticky residue. It’s great for intimate areas.
Application
First the wax is heated up and a spatula is used to apply the wax. An oil is wiped over the area so that the wax sticks to the hairs only and not the skin too. Unlike the warm wax, the hot wax cools down and is flicked and then pulled off. This treatment takes slightly longer than warm wax as we have to wait for the wax to cool down. The cream is used after to help soothe.
Warm Wax
Wax on Wax off is a fast way of removal and sometimes the preferred option of waxing when time is of the essence.
This method of waxing is great for large areas and the wax adheres to both hairs and skin giving a smooth appearance and feel.
Application
Wax is applied from the heat wax pot onto a wooden spatula and to the required area. A material wax strip is placed over the area and then pulled off. This is repeated until all the hairs are removed. We will check with you to make sure the temperature is just right.
What would prevent me from getting waxed?
Always check yourself before attending an appointment……..
Any contagious skin conditions, open wounds such as cuts, abrasions and if your skin has sunburn. It’s best to avoid if you’ve just had a spray tan and we say to avoid if you’re menstruating due to the treatment being more painful.
Pre wax
Let your hair grow, if it’s hot wax being used you can afford for it to be a little shorter. 2-3 weeks is usually whats required. A light exfoliation can help leading up to your appointment this will help to prevent ingrowing hairs in between visits.
Also it will allow the wax to sit better on the skin prepped for the wax to be removed. Moisturising must be avoided on the day of waxing but leading up to your appointment is recommended. Anything to give the wax a good base to be removed, less rough the better otherwise removal can be length especially over the knee area.
